Description

Partly crystallized, dendritic copper specimen, hosting some embedded quartz crystals, from classic Moldova Noua, Romania.
Comes with very old, beautiful label of an unknown collection which means: "Arborescent native copper, with Snow White marron stone, from New Moldova in Timesvarrer Bannat, on the frontiers of Turkey, very rare". Timesvarrer means todays Timisoara (german Temesvar) in Romania. The turkish border is quite far away now, but before World War I the Osman empire had a much bigger extension than todays turkey. The symbol top-left is the Alchimist Symbol for copper (and also the planet venus), but upside-down.
