Description

An excellent sample of uranium bearing hard coal with some yellow brown oxidation crusts caused by the occurrence of pyrite. This material was mined as uranium ore and is extremely rare.
The occurrence is early Permian age and  named Döhlen Formation and is a small coal district near Dresden, Saxony. Mining activities, during the last years focused to uranium, finished in 1989.
