Description

Pyrite is an Iron sulfide found in sedimentary formations in the earth's crust. It has been loved since antiquity for it's lustrous, metallic appearance and warm tone, which is similar to gold. For this reasons, it is also sometimes called, "Fool's gold." Although common, there are several different physical traits that pyrite may exhibits these peripheral characteristics are often indicative of locality. There are few very well-known top localities worldwide for the pyrite, like Spain, Peru, Washington State USA, and Italy. These specimens are distinct enough that their origin can often be identified by sight alone. This particular specimen is an one exceptional example from an uncommon and new locality at Northern area of Pakistan. It featuring very well crystalized bow-ties of pyrite on primary granular growth of pyrite. It has magnificent luster, brassy-golden tone, and shiny metallic luster. It's more a 360-degree view piece, as its very well composed and crystalized all around. Its an indeed attractive and aesthetic example for the specie from an uncommon locality.
