Metallic inclusions and crystal aggregates of the extremely rare silicide mineral gupeiite (Fe3Si)  associated to kamacite and taenite from the Yanshan meteorite.

After Mindat: Placers in the Yanshan area (which are otherwise composed of chromite, ilmenite, zircon, gold, PGE minerals, etc.) have been found to contain abundant spheres of "iron", typically 0.1-0.5 mm in size, which consist of an outer shell of magnetite, wüstite and maghemite and an inner shell of kamacite and taenite. In addition, some spheres have a core which is composed of gupeiite and xifengite.
