Description

Very interesting specimen of native mercury drops on matrix with minor cinnabar  and schuetteite from this classic Spanish mine nowadays closed and restored.

Schuetteite is a rare mineral only found in a few places in the world, the mineral is a hydrated sulphate of mercury that has a secondary formation deposited in the adjacent rocks to the reef. Here in Spain it was in the Las Cuevas cinnabar mine in Almaden but now it is impossible to find more specimens because the mine is closed and restored.
