Description

On this specimen the matrix context amplifies the aesthetic impact of the specimen. Calcite was deposited with sturmanite on the matrix. The calcite has a drusy sparkle from numerous small stellate clusters of scalene crystals. The material is partly frosted and clear, lining shelves and recesses. Then into this a hexagonal dipyramidal discs of sturmanite were deposited in a bright canary yellow. The largest sturmanite crystal measures 9mm.
