Description

Metallic inclusions of the extremely rare new selenide mineral nickeltyrrellite (IMA 2018-110)(first analysis) from the type and only known locality worldwide, the famous El Dragon mine in Bolivia (known for its paragenesis of selenium minerals), associated to native selenium (second analysis), molybdomenite (third analysis) and clausthalite (fourth analysis).

4 selenium species in a single specimen !!. In addition, It seems paradoxical, but native selenium is extremely rare in El Dragon, much more in analyzed specimens !!

It is a polished section that was analyzed by SEM/EDS, see copies of the analysis enclosed. Atomic and weight percentages in the analyses are only approximate since the sample was not carbon coated due to a requirement of the SEM/EDS machine.
