Description

A superb specimen of skeletal galena decorated with chalcopyrite and sphalerite from the famous Madan ore field, Bulgaria. It displays very attractive and geometrical arrangement of stacked and aligned galena overgrowing each other. Excellent parallel growth of cubes and elongated tetragonal prisms on different axes. They grow one atop other forming amazing terraced structures. The faces are matt lustrous. Attractive decoration is yellow chalcopyrite and black sphalerite on the quartz base. In very good condition – some nicks and contacts.

Outstanding specimen from this closed mine – the only one that makes these structures!
