Cuprian Austinite & Calcite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Ojuela Mine, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico
Size Range:
Small miniature (3-4.5 cm)
Size:
1.7 × 3.9 × 3.6 cm
Description

One of the prettiest miniatures I have seen in a while. It is very much a three dimensional specimen, good depth and colour contrast. The calcite crystals are stacked and twisted in such as way as to look almost faden in nature. The calcite translucent white crystals are starkly contrasted by the cuproaustinite that lines the matrix shell at the back of the specimen.
