Description

From the type locality, attractive floater alumovesuvianite crystal cluster of purplish mauve colour and exceptional brightness. These specimens have been always known as manganese-bearing vesuvianite, but recent works, i.e. Panikorovskii et al. (2017) has defined that “purple coloured phase it is the closest to end-member alumovesuvianite”.

Acquired in 1987. Ex Dominique Ranson specimen.
