Description

Vanadio-oxy-dravite, NaV3(Al4Mg2)(Si6O18)(BO3)3(OH)3O, is a new mineral of the tourmaline supergroup and was first described from Bosi et al at Sludyanka, Lake Baikal, Russia.

Recent investigations have now also been able to prove the mineral from the Emperor Mine, Fiji island.

The mineral forms grass-green, intergrown crystals in quartz together with tennantite and was only found in very few samples so far.

Extremely rare mineral. SEM-EDS confirmed specimen.
