Description

First-class specimen with lots of dark bottle-green derriksite crystals in association with lots of bottle-green elongated demesmaekerite crytals in contrast to green malachite. Richly decorated specimen with lots of derriksite and demesmaekerite crystals. Great combination of two rare selenian uranyl minerals. It should be noted that the demesmaekerite has not yet aged and has the opaque pistachio green color that is often common. This can only be observed in a few small areas. The crystals are fresh.

Specimen from type locality for both minerals. Demesmaekerite is only known from three localities, Derriksite only from two localities worldwide. Two rarities on one specimen with lots of crystals.

From the collection of Luc VANDENBERGHE, longtime mindat member and famous Belgian u-mineral collector. Specimen of a very well kept collection.
