Description

Large single crystal of white apatite from the Zillertal valley in Austria. The main crystal has very lustrous faces on the slim side and a zonar growth in shades of white. The front, broad surface has a silk-like lustre and shows an interesting translucent thin extension outgrowing the main crystal. Also you can find a stack of parallel-grown, smaller platy crystals with the same silky lustre. Further some crystals have grown out of the surface with smooth shiny faces.
