Crystals on Matrix

Miniature (4.5-7 cm)
Size:
4.7 × 4.2 × 1.5 cm
Description

Here is a first-class specimen which is completely covered with green francevillite crystals (not the typical red-orange crystals). This specimen is a perfect example of Pb-free francevillite as it should be (slight Pb content colours the francevillite orange-red). The Ba end member is classically green in colour.

The specimen is completely covered with very beautiful and large crystals and is of high quality. The crystals on the specimen can all be compared with the two detailed photos. The size of the specimen is also remarkable.

The Mounana Mine is type locality for francevillite.

Formerly from the Paul du Ry collection (Belgium), then from the Luc Vandenberghe collection (Belgium).
